From my time as a barista at Starbucks, I began learning to letter on chalkboards. I loved both attempting to perfectly recreate the “suggested” chalk art, along with taking creative license to create my own. After Starbucks I began working at a hair salon with an a-frame chalkboard that sat out front every day. My interest in lettering grew from there and became something I practiced with regularity. I created my first wedding signs for my sister’s wedding, and then all of the signs for my own wedding. When I moved to a new salon I joyfully discovered they had an actual chalk WALL and my creative work life was complete. I continued practicing a variety of lettering techniques, and began to learn the intricate art of watercolor lettering.
I have created wedding signs, business signs, home decor, office decor, and more. I offer a selection of lettered art at craft fairs, and I create commissions with your chosen quote, “font”, and color scheme.
